Showing the very lovely actress Petra Bryant get styled by A and J of R~A~J~E. Working everything from our bodycon midis to our batwing crops this is a girl with serious fashion nous. This post is the result of a little social media romance between us R~A~J~E girls and the lovely Petra Bryant. Sharing a love of ethical clothing, Pilates, clean and lean eating and blogging, we struck up a friendship via Twitter. Petra, quite apart from being a disarmingly open and friendly girl and fellow blogger, is an actor with no less than six films due for release in 2014. So, you saw her here first, and you'll no doubt see her everywhere next year! Anyway, we decided we'd have a little fun and do a mini R~A~J~E fashion shoot with Petra. So, one cold Autumn night, J and I made our way to SW6 and found ourselves playing dress up with a real life doll! Here are the results...
Petra chose the Dark Knights top and the Almost Smart skirt for her first outfit, and looks stunning in it! The relaxed draped cut of the top balances out the bodycon skirt and the simple shapes of garments leave the bold print to do the talking. We kept the colour theme fairly monochromatic, and this meant we were able to play around with accessories, using Petra's chunky necklace, headband worn as a bracelet, and stole worn as a belt/ cummerbund.
Petra was a wonderfully willing model, even allowing me to tie her faux-fur stole around her waist, trusting my stylists vision for an off-beat glamorous look. This outfit would be perfect for a glamorous night out, a dinner party, anywhere you wanted to look great and stand out!
For our second look of the night, we went for something a bit more girly and cutesey, pairing the Fancy Me lace skirt in black with the Perfect Crop top. A little like the red shoes fairy tale (but a lot less sinister!) the Fancy Me skirt has the almost magical quality of making whoever wears it skip and twirl around without a care in the world. We wanted the accessories to add to the magic of the outfit, so added a kooky thrifted handbag, a vintage Escada belt discovered on Etsy, a sparkly cat mask worn as a headband and layered glittery socks for this folksy, Russian doll look. The perfect outfit for running around town and having adventures.
No Need to Leave the Bed
After all that dressing up and running around, we went for a dressed down look to end the evening. The Twirl the Day Away dress is incredibly comfortable and easy to throw on, looking effortlessly great - as Petra demonstrates beautifully. Here we see Petra chilling out, maybe getting ready for a night out, maybe she's just got in... With this look we were going for natural, there was no need for accessories, we just let the dress and Petra's natural beauty shine.
Some behind the scenes (or Back to the Future, as J likes to call them) shots from the evening. All the accessories we used were Petra's own, either thrifted or bought off Ebay, and her room was like a treasure trove of trinkets!
